The Tillotson 72mm or what is known as the 225 blocks and the Tillotson 76mm or 3" block does not have the front tank mounts for a traditional top plate linkage. the idea behind this is to distinguish the Tillotson racing engines from other industrial engine blocks. Without the tank mounts, the Tillotson engine gains a cleaner, more efficient cub appeal.
Our newly designed top plate allows you to mount a fuel pump to your Tillotson 72mm and 76mm Blocks. This is the ideal setup for modified engines using aftermarket slides or diaphragm carburetors.

The First 5mm Stem Stainless Steel Valves For The Tillotson 212R, 225RS, And Predator Non-Hemi Heads!
Stock replacement for Tillotson 212R and Predator 212 Non-Hemi.
When we designed the Tillotson 212R, We decided to use the same 5mm valves as the Non-Hemi predator for the Tillotson cylinder head. Not only was the head diameter larger, but they were lighter than the 196 clones, Honda and Predator hemi valves. Tillotson would use the same head for their 225R/RS Engines with stiffer springs. Unfortunately, they kept the stock valves, which would not be suitable for stock appearing and modified running bigger, more aggressive camshafts and higher spring pressure. Without any aftermarket valves available, we took to having our own valves made to support the Tillotson and Predator heads. The smaller valve stems saves weight over the 5.5mm valve stems. Less weight means more rpm with less spring pressure. There is also a potential for better flow by reducing the obstruction in the bowl and choke and choke an area of the port. The Valves come nitrided on the top of the valve head and stem to protect from heat and wear. These valves are +.050 longer than stock valves to allow more lift without coil binding. This will change the spring pressure of the springs, so you may need to add a .050"shims to the springs bottom to have proper spring pressure for lower lift cams.

The PVL flywheel fin design allows it to move a very high volume of air. It is recommended that you leave only 1 of the blower housing recoil air intakes open. If more cooling is desired then the tape can be removed. The engine will perform best when you have the right amount of cooling to keep the engine from reaching an excessive temperature. The flywheel works with the standard OEM clone coil with a recommended coil gap of .038-.040". The running timing with a straight up key is 28 degrees and it is recommended to start with a running timing between 28 to 31 degrees. PVL, the manufacturer, tested the flywheel at 17,000 rpms and an independent company in the USA tested the flywheel at 15,000 rpms for 60 minutes, both without failure.
These testings do not verify or guarantee the safety, suitability, use, or the fitness of this flywheel. Racing is dangerous and exploding parts can cause injury or death.The flywheel comes with two 5/16-24 threaded holes in the steel hub for the use of a standard 2 bolt puller for removal.
