Tennessee Thunderstix Reaper .268 Performance Camshaft- High-RPM Power Cam for Honda Clone Kart & Mini Bike Racing Engines

The Reaper .268 Camshaft from Tennessee Thunderstix lives up to its name—delivering aggressive top-end power for serious kart racing and mini bike performance builds. Inspired by the world’s hottest pepper and the personification of death, the Reaper isn’t just another .265–.268 lift cam—it’s a purpose-built evolution designed to dominate where other cams fall off.

Engineered for Maximum Top-End Performance

Built as the successor to the widely popular Banzai camshaft, the Reaper was developed specifically for:

  • Larger displacement small block Honda-clone engines
  • High-compression race builds
  • Racers demanding stronger pull from mid to high RPM

Unlike many cams in the saturated .265 lift category, the Reaper is optimized to increase average horsepower—not just peak numbers. The result is a broader, more usable powerband where it matters most on track.

Optimized Powerband for Racing Applications

  • Primary Power Range: 5000–8000 RPM
  • Secondary Power Range: 3500–7000 RPM
  • Peak Torque: 5000–6500 RPM
  • Peak Horsepower: 7000–7500 RPM

This camshaft is engineered to maximize average power between 5000–8000 RPM, ensuring stronger acceleration and sustained speed without sacrificing drivability. It remains compatible with lower clutch engagement setups, making it versatile across kart and mini bike racing applications.

Sleeper Performance – No Welded Lobes Required

The Reaper delivers elite performance in a non-welded “sleeper” design, keeping costs down while maintaining reliability. It is specifically designed to:

  • Work with stock-style valvetrain components
  • Require only 26 lb valve springs
  • Provide high performance without excessive complexity

Recommended Engine Setup

Best suited for:

  • 223cc+ engines
  • Compression ratios 10.5:1 to 11.75:1

Fuel Considerations:

  • Above 11.75:1 compression: race gas or methanol recommended
  • Below 10.5:1: reduced low-end gains and limited overall benefit

For smaller or lower-compression engines, consider:

  • Reaper Jr
  • Banzai II

Stroker-Compatible Design (224-Core Platform)

All DynoCams 224-core camshafts include:

  • .550” cam journal
  • Narrow lobes for rod clearance
  • Lobe-to-lobe clearancing
  • Reduced compression release for 58mm stroke compatibility

These features eliminate the need for crankshaft clearancing in stroker builds, making the Reaper ideal for high-performance engine combinations.

Engine Compatibility

Direct Fit:

  • Predator 224cc Non-Hemi
  • Ducar 224cc Non-Hemi
  • Wildcat 223 Hemi
  • Wildcat 240 Non-Hemi

Also Compatible (.550” Journal Engines):

  • Predator 212 Hemi
  • Tillotson 212E
  • Ducar 212
  • Honda GX200 / 196cc Clones

Important:
Stroked 196cc/212cc engines using 58mm+ crankshafts require a 224-core camshaft to prevent compression release interference.

Not Compatible:

  • Predator 212 Non-Hemi
  • Predator 224 Hemi
